PIKE - The cunning Ruler of Waters
Nicknamed “water wolf” and “bog dog,” the pike has taken on the role of a predator in tradition and storytelling. It has been seen as a thief, whose skill and speed in attacking are unmatched. The pike was considered an omen of death, and misbehaving young men were said to end up in its belly.
The pike is a mythical ruler of the waters, living beneath the surface. According to beliefs, it had access to the underworld and carried sick souls to Tuonela. The pike hunts strategically and cunningly – symbolizing strength, cleverness, determination, and adaptability.
In the Kalevala, the pike plays a major role – who could forget the tale of Väinämöinen crafting a kantele from its jawbone, whose music enchanted all of creation?

Nor belonged he to the smallest;

Carbon neutral production: The study was performed in accordance with the main principles of ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.
All waste flows of the production phase are re-used. The wood for the material comes from the certified forests in Finland. We use EKOenergy and electricity from own solar panels. Heating of the factory is performed using waste heat flows and carbon neutral electricity.
Each item ages beautifully yet keeping its qualities.You can check how fresh the product is from its wooden scent – the stronger the scent, the newer the product!
At the end of their long-life span, the products can be recycled, incinerated for heat energy, or returned to the manufacturer for re-use.
Wide operating temperature range from -30 °C up to +100 °C: Kupilka-products withstand everything from freezing weather to storms and boiling hot tea.
