m Jahr 2003 ging die KUPILKA 21 in Serie. Bis auf das KUPILKA  Besteck, wurden alle Produkte in kooperation mit dem finnischen Industriedesigner Heikki Koivurova designt. Das KUPILKA Besteck wurde von Kari Kuisma designt.

KUPILKA bedeutet, kleine Tasse". Es ist abgeleitet von, „Kuppi", dem finnischen Wort für Tasse. Es stammt aus der Zeit vor dem ersten Weltkrieg als finnische Frauen und Männer während der harten Finnischen Winter sich beim Trinken mit der „Kupilka" oder kleinen „Tasse" sich die Hände aufgewärmt haben.

Mit dem Export unserer KUPILKA Produkte haben wir im August 2009 begonnen. Heute sind die KUPILKA Produkte in Finnland, den Niederlanden und Deutschland erhältlich. Yes. Kupilka dishware complies with the requirements of the EC Regulation EC/1935/2004/EC §3 and EU Regulation EU No 10/2011 on materials and articles intending to come into contact with food.

Kupilka products are dyed with colours that are approved for food contact. There is no coating that would wear off during use.

Kupilka products are not biodegradable but they are designed for life, thus reducing the carbon footprint. At the end of the life span the products can be recycled, incinerated for heat energy or returned to the manufacturer for re-use.

All materials are recycled within the Kupilka production site. To comply with the health and safety regulations, we do not use outsourced recycled materials. Instead, we use our very own Kareline® Natural Fibre Composite – eco-friendly cellulose fibres from certified Finnish forests reinforce the material with FDA approved polypropylene used as an adhesive (ratio: 50/50). Products from this material age beautifully yet keeping their qualities.

Kupilka products are insensitive to humidity, which means that they do not absorb the smell or taste of food and drinks.

There is no expiry date. Kupilka products are strong and durable with long life span. The products also age beautifully yet keeping their qualities.

Kupilka products are easy to maintain and do not need any special care. 

Yes. You can have a name with a maximum length of 11 characters lasermarked on the cups, bowls and knives. For logo engraving, please contact us at sales@kupilka.fi

Yes. You can check how fresh the product is from its wooden scent – the stronger the scent, the newer the product! The smell will disappear after a few washes.

Yes. You can use for example quality acrylic paint to decorate the dishes. Remember to follow the instructions and ensure that the paint is completely cured before using the product.

Yes. You can drill and sand your Kupilka like a wooden product. Note that very high drilling temperatures might burn and melt the drilling hole.

Kupilka dishware will last longer if you use Kupilka cutlery from the same material. Products from this material age beautifully yet keeping their qualities.

There can be dots on the products due to the wood fibre content of the material. The dots do not affect the functionality of the product.
