Naturfaser - verbundmaterial

Unsere KUPILKA Produkte werden aus einem Biomaterial hergestellt. Das Biomaterial besteht aus einem Naturfaser-Verbundmaterial, das aus 50% Holzfasern und 50% aus Plastikmaterial (Polypropen) zusammengesetzt ist.

Verglichen mit Plastik sind die Vorteile des Naturfaser-Verbundmaterials neben der besseren Hitzebeständigkeit und höheren Nutzungsdauer vor allem die solide Konstruktion. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist die Möglichkeit, das Material nach der Produktion weiterverarbeiten zu können wie zum Beispiel durch das Eingravieren von Namen oder Firmenlogos mit Lasertechnik. Im Vergleich zu Holz muss das Material nicht gepflegt werden. Zudem nimmt es keine Gerüche auf und ist feuchtigkeitsbeständig. Alle KUPILKA Produkte sind spülmaschinengeeignet.

Am Ende eines Lebenszyklus kann man die KUPILKA-Gefäße schreddern und nach Aufbereitung erneut spritzgießen und für die Produktion neuer Gefäße verwenden. Eine thermische Verwertung ist ebenfalls möglich.Alle KUPILKA Verpackungen und Produktbeschreibungen werden aus recyceltem Karton hergestellt. Die Lederbänd von KUPILKA 5 werden aus Rentier Leder hergestellt.

Das Material wurde vom Puugia, Centre for Wood Technology in Joensuu entwickelt und wird heutzutage in der selben Region in von Plasthill Oy hergestellt.

Yes. Kupilka dishware can withstand boiling hot water (+100°C) and sub-zero temperatures as cold as -30°C.

Yes. The products can be washed by hand in the wild or in the dishwasher back home.

Yes. You can enjoy any drink from Kupilka. The products do not absorb the smell or taste of food and drinks. 

It is not necessary to clean up immediately. You decide when to clean.

Yes. Kupilka dishware complies with the requirements of the EC Regulation EC/1935/2004/EC §3 and EU Regulation EU No 10/2011 on materials and articles intending to come into contact with food.

Kupilka products are dyed with colours that are approved for food contact. There is no coating that would wear off during use.

Kupilka products are not biodegradable but they are designed for life, thus reducing the carbon footprint. At the end of the life span the products can be recycled, incinerated for heat energy or returned to the manufacturer for re-use.

All materials are recycled within the Kupilka production site. To comply with the health and safety regulations, we do not use outsourced recycled materials. Instead, we use our very own Kareline® Natural Fibre Composite – eco-friendly cellulose fibres from certified Finnish forests reinforce the material with FDA approved polypropylene used as an adhesive (ratio: 50/50). Products from this material age beautifully yet keeping their qualities.

Kupilka products are insensitive to humidity, which means that they do not absorb the smell or taste of food and drinks.

There is no expiry date. Kupilka products are strong and durable with long life span. The products also age beautifully yet keeping their qualities.

Kupilka products are easy to maintain and do not need any special care. 

Yes. You can have a name with a maximum length of 11 characters lasermarked on the cups, bowls and knives. For logo engraving, please contact us at sales@kupilka.fi

Yes. You can check how fresh the product is from its wooden scent – the stronger the scent, the newer the product! The smell will disappear after a few washes.

Yes. You can use for example quality acrylic paint to decorate the dishes. Remember to follow the instructions and ensure that the paint is completely cured before using the product.

Yes. You can drill and sand your Kupilka like a wooden product. Note that very high drilling temperatures might burn and melt the drilling hole.

Kupilka dishware will last longer if you use Kupilka cutlery from the same material. Products from this material age beautifully yet keeping their qualities.

There can be dots on the products due to the wood fibre content of the material. The dots do not affect the functionality of the product.
