The laser markings on the Moomin Kupilka products have been updated with the transition to the improved Kareline BioNFC material. The laser engraving of delivered product corresponds to the product image of Moominpappa cup with a white background.

The renewed material enables more accurate and detailed laser engraving of the Moomin characters than before. Read more about the updating of laser markings from here.

Kareline® Natural Fibre Composite: Custom-made material for Kupilka. Carbon neutral production, manufactured in Finland. It consists of 50 % softwood-based fibres from the certified Finnish forests and 50 % food-grade polyolefins. BPA-free material.

Jute cord and reindeer leather cord: Reindeer leather is uniquely soft, thin and durable. It is considered to be an ethical option as reindeer live most of their lives free and the leather is obtained as a by-product of food production.

Ferrocerium rod of Firesteel from EU, striker as a by-product of Finnish metal industry, coloring may vary

Packaging: Cardboard from responsible managed forests, recycled

Carbon neutral production: The study was performed in accordance with the main principles of ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.

All waste flows of the production phase are re-used. The wood for the material comes from the certified forests in Finland. We use EKOenergy and electricity from own solar panels. Heating of the factory is performed using waste heat flows and carbon neutral electricity.

Each item ages beautifully yet keeping its qualities. You can check how fresh the product is from its wooden scent – the stronger the scent, the newer the product!

At the end of their long-life span, the products can be recycled, incinerated for heat energy, or returned to the manufacturer for re-use.
